The Anniversary of Elvis Presley’s Death

On this day, 34 years ago, the world lost the greatest rock n’ roll icon that has ever lived – Elvis Presley. Like so many great artists over the years, we lost him far too early; he died at just 42 years old.  However, he will always be remembered for his great talent, distinctive performance style and universal appeal.  Elvis Presley revolutionized the world of music and truly was “The Artist of The Century.”

Even though he is no longer physically here, he left us his entire music legacy, which to this day, continues to captivate millions of hearts around the world.  This week, Elvis proved once again that he continues to be a top music act.  His latest DVD release “Elvis – The Great Performances” shot to #1 on the Billboard Charts.  This collection includes performances throughout Elvis’s career, including Elvis’s first appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show and a concert performance just weeks before he died.

Even though he is gone, Elvis remains firmly seated in his throne as the “King of Rock n’ Roll.”
